I have taken classes in a different state, do I have to take Florida’s classes, too?

Yes. Without a degree, there are no exemptions for the classes.

Do I have to take the classes, can I just take the test without taking the classes?

Yes, you can. However, keep in mind, that the test was developed from the class material (the participant’s guide and trainer’s guide). If you fail the exam, you will be required to take and pay for the class and then repay for the test.

No. Once you have one, it is good in the State of Florida forever.

If I have taken the 30 Hour FCCH class but now want to work in a center, can I use that class to cover the required classes?

No, you must complete the 6 hour BOS class and the 6 hour Rules and Regulations for a child care facility which is required to work in the center.

Refer to your confirmation letter; if you do not have one, you can download one atwww.myflorida.com/childcare/training, and then click on the “View my transcript” link. Follow the directions to get to the transcript, once there, click on the button that says letter, next to the test you are taking.

Can I buy the training participant guides to study for the exam?

Yes, you may purchase the training module and study guide from Kids Incorporated for $20.00 each training class.

Can I get my money back if something comes up, like sickness, car accidents, etc.?

No. We have a “No Refund” policy. If you do not attend class for any reason, you cannot get a refund. With 48 hours written notice we will transfer you one time to the same class within a 6 month period.

Can I make up a missed class?

No, we do not offer make up classes. If you give us a 48 hour written notice before the class begins, we can transfer you to another class. However, if a class will meet four times and you can’t or don’t attend one of those meetings, there is no way to make up that one class and you will not receive in-service credit.

Are FCCPC Renewals required?

Yes, as of June 30, 2005 FCCPC renewals are required to be renewed every 5 years. However, if your FCCPC has already expired, you have until December 31, 2008, to meet this new requirement. You can get more information and a contact number from the website atwww.myflorida.com/childcare/training and click on the Florida Child Care Professional Credential Program link.

What is a CEU?

A CEU is a continuing education unit. For every 10 hours of training, it equals one CEU. CEUs state that the training exceeds in-service hours. To obtain a CEU, it usually requires an additional payment. Kids Incorporated offers CEUs at a cost of $25.00 per certificate. CEUs are only given when a class specifies that a person can get a CEU.

What’s the difference between the 3 Hour FCCH and the 30 Hour FCCH?

The 3 Hour Fundamentals of Child Care training is for a person who would substitute for an operator of a Family Child Care Home. The State of Florida does not require that a substitute takes this class.

How do I get a copy of my exam results?

Go towww.myflorida.com/childcare/training. Click on the “View my Transcript” link. If you passed the test, the button will say “Print.” If you failed the test, the button will say “Status.” If you have any questions about the test, please call 1-800-768-8316, extension 2289.

How do I get in-service training for state mandated training?

Go towww.myflorida.com/childcare/training. Click on the “Child Care Facility, Registered Family Day Care Home or the Licensed Family Day Care Home” link. Then click on the “Annual In-service Training” link. (This will take you to an Acrobat file). Press print. Bring the form to the class and have the trainer sign it for every night you attend the class.

Do I have to retake the State Mandated courses now that they have changed the classes?

No, the changes are only in effect for people who take classes after August 1, 2006. If you have taken the 40 hours before that you don’t have to take the classes again.
