Kids Incorporated relies on individuals, businesses and organizations to help us meet the financial resource needs of our program so we may provide the comprehensive, quality services we offer more than 300 children and families each year. Our largest program, Early Head Start, is funded through a federal grant requiring we raise 20% of the grant funds locally. We therefore have to raise $68,300 each month in matching funds! The grant and matching funds cover basic program needs and don't take into consideration increasing transportation costs, food prices, etc. that our organization has had to absorb recently. Budd Bell Early Learning Endowment Fund for Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend: The Board of Directors established an endowment fund in honor of our founder, Budd Bell, at the Community Foundation of North Florida. The fund is designed to serve as a living legacy to Budd's commitment to help children and their families. Kids Incorporated accepts certain donated items which can be used to implement or enhance our programs. These in-kind donations may be used towards helping us meet our federal matching funds requirement. By donating items which are necessities to run our centers, you can not only help us raise federal matching funds, but you can also help us hold down expenses. For example, to provide diapers for infants and toddlers in our Early Head Start centers costs us more than $10,000 each program year. Thus, any donation of diapers enables us to maintain a quality program, hold down expenses, and raise required federal matching funds. The following items are currently being accepted and may be dropped off at any of our offices or early learning centers.
