Help Us Prepare Children to be "School-Ready" PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Yes, I want to help children enter school ready-to-learn!  Here's my gift!

Help Kids Incorporated prepare infants and toddlers to be ready to enter school so they can learn at their maximum level!  Kids Incorporated recognizes a child's family is the most important teacher in a child's life.  We also recognize the community has a role to play - it does take a village.  At Kids Incorporated, all children are assessed upon enrollment, an individual learning plan is developed for each child and they are in a classroom with 1 teacher-to-4 children to help provide individualized attention and care.  We take the job of preparing children to be "School Ready" very seriously - but if you visit a classroom, you'll see the infants and toddlers having a fun time.  There are laughs, songs, games, hands-on activities, hugs, and whether the class is in the classroom or outside "playing" on our natural playscapes - our staff and volunteers are helping prepare youngsters for school.

ALL ABOARD!  Having a 1-teacher-to-4 child ratio is expensive; salaries are the largest expense item in our budget because of this.  Ten percent of the children we serve (at a minimum) have special needs and you'll often find speech or occupational therapists in the classroom working with a child.  Kids Incorporated relies on grants and donations to provide the high quality services to the 236 children and their families we serve in our Early Head Start centers and the 42 pregnant women in our prenatal program.  Our largest grant requires we match every $4 we receive with $1 dollar we raise locally.  That means we must raise $841,000 this year!  We depend on individuals, businesses and organizations to help us meet the financial needs of our program so we may provide quality, comprehensive services.

Donated Goods or Services:

Kids Incorporated accepts certain donated items which can be used to implement or enhance our programs.  These in-kind donations may be used towards helping us meet our federal matching funds requirement.  By donating items which are necessities to run our centers, you can not only help us raise federal matching funds, but you can also help us hold down expenses.  For example, to provide diapers for infants and toddlers in our Early Head Start centers costs us more than $10,000 each program year.  Thus, any donation of diapers (especially sizes 3, 4, & 5) enables us to maintain a quality program, hold down expenses, and raise required federal matching funds.

The following items are currently being accepted and may be dropped off at any of our offices or early learning centers.
