Kidsfest

Saturday, April 12, 2008
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
North Florida Fairgrounds
Kidsfest is a day for the entire community to celebrate childhood. For the past six years, kids have been able to enjoy plenty of hands-on activities, bouncers, pony rides, special costumed characters, live entertainment, and refreshments – all adding up to a very special, fun-filled day for the entire family.
Join Kids Incorporated, along with Ringmaster Sponsors, Aramark and CWH Constructors, for Kidsfest 2008. Approximately 100 businesses, non-profit and government programs are expected to offer fun hands-on activities for children. Kidsfest 2008 will be bigger and better than ever! Admission is a minimum donation of $2 per person and all activities are free. Refreshments will be sold. Proceeds from Kidsfest benefit Kids Incorporated’s programs serving at-risk children and families. (In the event of rain, Kidsfest will take place indoors at the Fairgrounds).
Last year, more than 3,500 people joined Kids Incorporated and Aramark Corporation, Ringmaster Sponsors, for hands-on children’s activities, bouncers, a rock climb, pony rides, special characters and live entertainment. There was a giant 23 foot slide, a water slide, a mini-mountain, and the Tallahassee Fire Department brought a fire truck for kids to climb on. The American Red Cross had their fire/weather house for families to go through and Mr. McFeely (Sir Speedy Delivery) from PBS’ Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood was on hand to sign autographs and meet young and old alike. Families went on 21st century treasure hunts using GPS navigational tools and brought back the treasures and made a craft with the materials found on the hunt.
