Kids Incorporated's

Tiny Library Project

Building upon the momentum generated by the Little Free Library project that is burgeoning in our communities across the country, Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend is creating its very own “Tiny Library” project. A recent study conducted by the Little Free Library project revealed that 92% of people say their neighborhood feels like a friendlier place and 74% of people report they’ve read a book they normally would not have read because of the Little Free Library.

Similar to the Little Free Library’s, “Give a Book, Take a Book” format, Kids Incorporated’s Tiny Libraries will focus on the community’s youngest children.  The “Tiny Libraries” will be full of books appropriate for children ages 0-3. However, Kids Incorporated will not forget about the rest of the community.  While the main focus of the libraries will be children’s books for infants and toddlers, there will be a section available for siblings, Moms, and Dads.

In addition to the free lending library portion, there will be a donation box that will allow for the collection of  children’s books.  The donations ensure that Kids Incorporated can continue to keep the libraries well stocked and ready to serve the community. Kids Incorporated believes that the “Tiny Library” project will be an outstanding way to promote early literacy in the lives of the children and families in the community.

Kids Incorporated is currently in the construction phase of the “Tiny Library” project.  Kids Incorporated is currently seeking support with stocking the libraries, so that the libraries can be completely operational when they are completed and installed.  The anticipated installation of the first completed “Tiny Library” is the end of March 2018.
